Create a 2D video presentation from scratch

Welcome to the complete Beginner’s Guide To Adobe After Effects.
Whether you are a designer and looking to apply effects and transitions to your video, or create animated logos, illustrations or info graphics, Adobe After Effects is the program to use.
The tools in After Effects make it very easy to build video compositions, add video effects and motion graphics to bring your presentation to life.
This course has been carefully created to bring you up to speed with the program and how to use it. So, not only will you be able to create a simple project yourself, but you’ll also be able to see many more.
On this course, you’ll learn all the methods I use to create my videos. So if you’ve never used After Effects before, are wondering how it works and want to try some simple animation, this course is for you!

This course has received many 5 star reviews from real students!
I’m going to cover the basics in this course, so whether you have the most up-to-date version of After Effects or an older version, you’ll be able to follow along just fine.
In this series, we will be starting from the very beginning and working our way across 48 episodes to learn all the basics and eventually put it all into practise and build a video presentation project of your own.
Example of what we will be creating
Below is what we will be creating on the course, where I will demonstrate all the tools and techniques.
After watching this series you will be able to create your very own video presentation in After Effects ready to export and share.
To help break down the process I have structured the course into 3 main sections:
Section 1 – Introduction
Section 2 – Essential practice
Section 3 – Create a project
So, once you have downloaded the project PDF and the project folder,
Let’s get into it!
**FYI**
In this video series, I will be using Adobe After Effects CC for Mac. Almost all of the principles demonstrated and covered will apply to future and previous versions. Some differences may apply if you are using a previous or future version.

Hi! I’m buying your After Effects course after completing most of it weeks ago (without the course files). I was able to follow along and then jump into my own project (which I just completed today!). I can’t thank you enough for putting together such a well thought out and easy to follow course for After Effects.
unfortunately, I live in Iran and I’m not able to pay for the project folder 🙁
Hi Negar. We are aware there are some restrictions with payments from Iran, however we are doing our best to make the folder as accessible as possible to everyone.
I bought the course and sent you some emails about the mp3 download link doesn’t work?
Hi Joe, I’ve replied to your email regarding this with a solution.
I bought the course but it does not appear to be compatible with CS5 which is the version of After Effects that I have installed. Is there anything I can do about this without having the purchase an updated version? The Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign courses were all compatible with CS5.
Hi Dustin, thanks for your comment. Unfortunately the course is only compatible with CS6 and CC, as specified above. You will need to upgrade to CS6 to use the course, but if you don’t want to do that please email me at contact@garethdavidstudio.com so we can discuss organising a refund.
Thank you for responding. I was able to download a free 30 day trial of CS6 which is more than enough time to complete the course. I can then work on any projects I want to do in CS5 without having to make any additional purchases. I would definitely buy a Premiere Pro course if Gareth ever decides to do one. Thank you for all the help in Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop over the years!
Ah wonderful! I’m glad you found a workaround for the course. At present there are no plans to create a course for Premiere Pro but lots more to come in other programs.
